Australia’s leading piano recitalist returns to perform popular repertoire and some Australian works.

Join Tamara in this program for music lovers, ‘A brief history of the piano’: a delightful and varied journey through some of the best-loved works for piano from the great composers – Bach, Haydn and Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert, through to Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Rachmaninov and other classics from the 20th century.

Tamara-Anna Cislowska is one of Australia’s most acclaimed and recognised pianists.

Tamara has won international prizes in London, Italy and Greece, including the Rovere d’Oro, and in Australia was the youngest pianist to win ABC Young Performer of the Year at age 14. She is a recipient of the prestigious Freedman Fellowship (2003) from the Music Council of Australia, a 2012 Art Music Award for ‘Performance of the Year’ (ACT) and nominated for a 2014 AIR Independent Music Award.

In this special solo recital, she will perform works from her recently released Peter Sculthorpe: Complete works for Solo Piano, which has earned worldwide acclaim. Selected as BBC Music Magazine’s ‘Recording of the Month’ (5 stars), Limelight magazine’s ‘Editor’s Choice’ (5 stars), ‘CD of the Week’ on ABC Classic FM and Fine Music FM, and enjoying several weeks at no.1 on the ARIA classical charts, the album has been hailed as ‘an Australian treasure’ (news.com.au), ‘Australian piano gold… transfixing’ (BBC Music Magazine), and ‘A profoundly affecting release’ (Gramophone).
